Our Order
The Ancient Order of Hibernians is America’s oldest Irish Catholic Fraternal Organization founded concurrently in the coal-mining region of Pennsylvania and New York City in May,1836. The Order can trace its roots back to a series of similar societies that existed in Ireland for more than 300 years. Today the AOH exists in America, Canada, Ireland, England, Wales and Scotland, however, while the organizations share a common thread, the American AOH is a separate and much larger organization.
Our Story
The County St. Charles Division was charted in 1993 and remains a vibrant and growing division among the order. Our members have held positions among the Missouri State Hibernians including Vice President and President in addition to current member John Wilson serving as one of six National Directors for the American AoH. Our membership is made up of laborers, tradesmen, law enforcement officers & first responders, teachers, attorneys, businessmen, and many other men representing a variety of occupations and walks of life. One thing our members all have in common is pride in their Irish heritage.
Division Officers
Like any charity or social service group we rely heavily on volunteer leaders and officers. Our Division has been blessed to have great men at the helm representing our order and our division.
